Biography
Dr. Sundararajan was raised in the Midwest and subsequently traveled across the country for her medical training. Accepted into the 8-year Rice/Baylor Medical Scholars Program, she completed her B.S. in Bioengineering, then went on to graduate from Baylor College of Medicine with High Honors. She completed ophthalmology residency at the New York Eye & Infirmary, then pursued two consecutive fellowships at the University of California, San Francisco/F. I. Proctor Foundation. Her fellowship sub-specializations include Uveitis & Ocular Inflammation as well as Cornea & External Disease. She focuses on both, and the intersection of the two, in her practice.

Clinical interests
Dr. Sundararajan’s clinical interests include uveitis, scleritis, peripheral ulcerative keratitis, cicatrizing conjunctivitis, corneal transplantation (including keratoprosthesis, penetrating keratoplasty, DSEK, and DMEK), cataract surgery, and secondary intraocular lens implantation.
Research focus
Dr. Sundararajan is interested in novel means of pathogen detection in corneal ulcers, as well as the effects of light exposure on re-epithelialization of the cornea.
