Biography
Dr. Buhr earned his Ph.D. in 2008 studying neuroscience at Northwestern University in the laboratory of Dr. Joseph Takahashi. He completed his postdoctoral training at the University of Washington with Dr. Russell Van Gelder from 2009-2015.

He joined the Vision Science Center at the University of Washington in 2009 and the faculty of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Washington in 2015. Dr. Buhr lives in Seattle with his wife and two children.

Research focus
Research in the Buhr laboratory focuses on circadian rhythms of the retina and other ocular tissues. A major focus area is the mechanisms by which circadian clocks within the eye become synchronized by light.
