Biography

Dr. Chen grew up in Los Angeles. He earned his bachelor’s degree in bioengineering and his medical degree from the University of California Los Angeles. He completed internal medicine internship at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and ophthalmology residency at the Flaum Eye Institute at the University of Rochester. He then went on to complete a glaucoma fellowship at the Stein Eye Institute at UCLA.

Dr. Chen’s interests include the medical and surgical management of glaucoma, cataract, and anterior segment problems.

Research focus

Dr. Chen’s research interests include the structure-function relationship of glaucoma, visual fields, and imaging of the optic nerve.
